Concepts for KAFI 09 film slides.

March 30th, 2009

Last night I did some quick concepts for slides to be used in the competition screening reels for KAFI ‘09. Basically, I worked up the inital sketch, scanned and created the sketch in Illustrator. Then I dumped the images and text into Photoshop, added some textures, and created lighting effects using my tablet. It was nice to brush the dust off my tablet. I really need to start using that more.

Restoring family photos.

March 23rd, 2009

Recently, I have been in the process of digitally restoring some old family photos using Photoshop. Below is a picture of my great grandmother, my uncle Tom, and my dad (holding the pup with the zipper malfunction). Click on the photo to see larger versions of both the original scan and finished restored image.

Stampin’ with Zip! logo concept

Stampin with Zip logo concept
Here is a logo concept I recently created for a friend’s blog showcasing her stamping and stories of her and her dog Zippo. I’m sure the logo still has a few tweaks to get it where it needs to be.

So… where were we?

March 11th, 2009

Almost a month without an update!?! I must be slipping. There are a bunch of projects starting up right now and I will hopefully have some things to show on here soon, including the final KAFI 2009 print pieces, a few websites, and an animation or two. Stay tuned.

Pardon the dust…

February 18th, 2009

I’m currently in the process of redesigning the look of the blog, which you can probably tell if this isn’t your first visit here. So, if things are looking a little peculiar when you stop by, I’m probably working on it. Drop me a line and let me know what you think.

Wellness Works lesson on Youtube

February 12th, 2009

I just noticed that Maestro eLearning posted one of the lessons from module 2 of the Wellness Works program up on Youtube. Technically, not the best I have to offer in the way of animation. It falls into the “I have two weeks to figure out how to use Flash and create a 30 minute module” category. Needless to say, very little sleep and more coffee than any human should ingest. This is one of the first things I created in Flash beyond simple website banners, so designers, pardon the rough edges. To either extent, give it a view. You might learn a thing or two about those holiday eating habits.
